In short Mibo requires a laptop or desktop computer connected to the internet, that is equipped with a recent browser, webcam and microphone. Headphones are also strongly recommended.

Detailed requirements

Laptop or desktop computer

A laptop or PC running MacOS, Linux or Windows. Mibo is a 3D world, therefore a light weight graphics card is also required.

Mibo does not run on mobile phones, smartphones or tablets (e.g. iPad).

Supported browsers

We recommend to use the latest version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (Chromium version on Windows 10 or above), but Mibo should work on most modern browsers like Firefox, Opera or Brave. One major browser we do not yet support is Safari.

For those who want the technical details: Mibo should work on browsers based on Chromium and Gecko. We don't have WebKit based browser support yet.

A webcam and a microphone

Any recent webcam and microphone will work, we have no specific requirements on these devices other than you need one.

Headphones are strongly recommended

To prevent others from hearing themselves and hearing echoing sounds we strongly recommend everyone to wear headphones. Mibo also features 3D sound (also known as spatial audio or HRTF) that is best experienced with headphones on, this helps you hear where other people and objects are in the environment.

Internet connection

Generally: if your internet is fast enough for Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, your internet will be fast enough for Mibo.

An 10Mbps download and upload speed would be acceptable, but at least 30Mbps download and upload is recommended. You can perform an internet speed test at speedtest.net.

Also you must be able to reach our servers, if you're behind a firewall, use a VPN, proxy or are on a corporate network please ensure the servers and ports Mibo needs are reachable.
